Although this is unconfirmed, the author states that there were a lot of hints in Scarletts power in Nightrise. In a blog by Anthony Horowitz on his website, he revealed he has done his research in Hong Kong for Necropolis (where the book is set) and is now half-way through writing it. He also revealed that the plot of the book is that the Old Ones kidnap Scarlett, who is the fifth of the Five, and use her as bait in a trap to capture Matt - the main protoganist of the first two books, and leader of the Five. He also revealed that the book would be split into three parts and that the first two parts are written in first person. The first part will be narrated by Scarlett. The second part is narrated by Matt. And the third part will be told by Anthony Horowitz. He also said it is the darkest and scariest novel he has ever wrote. Most of the book is set in Hong Kong but it is also set in London, Peru and the Ukraine. He expects to deliver the manuscript to Walker Books (who are his publishers) in May 2008. He has now reportedly finished the book, and has delivered it to his publishers. Necropolis is supposedly a haunted city. Walker books have now stated that due to an 'unexpected inconvenience' and 'contractual obligations' this book will not be published untill early 2010, once these problems have been resolved. This is bad news for fans of the series who will now have to wait another 2 years before the book is released.
